I FIRST MET DAN KOECK when he was contracted
to shoot me for a magazine article for Network World. We did the shoot on
on a cool late fall evening that progressively got colder. Our location was downdown Fargo, by the depot on Main.
With friends acting as gophers for Dan with lights, etc., we got several great shots, including some with a train engine's light
in the background. It was later that I found out that Dan taught photography at a local university, and about the downtown Fargo
project with MSUM students he organized. When I found out about it, I wanted to share the pride they felt, and I feel, about one
of our area's special places.
Here are some of the results of Dan's work for that project.
Also, be sure and check out his
own website for more great examples of his work, including a personal project he continues to work on to document North
Dakota...
